Weather app just won’t budge off that 17 tomorrow am.

I’ve been watching Livingston Montana on the app (have a relative there) APP has been consistently (for days) showing -28 there this am. Just checked… -28 on the dot.

Herzog said it's coming in colder what models and weather apps are saying...

"Buckle up. Our computer models (and by extension your weather apps) are too “warm” with this arctic front. For example the Euro said it would be 7° in Amarillo at 6AM. Instead it was 2 below zero. 🥶"

That’s usually what happens with these Artic blasts.

It's just the default Apple Weather App.

Careful with that. Faster doesn't necessarily translate to colder temps the next morning.

Just means the initial surge of the cold air is stronger. Globals do that every time it seems.

Really don't think we get above freezing tomorrow. Highs likely in the upper 20s.

Too bad there isn’t any moisture around. Would be quite fun! Looks like some returns popping up NW of Dallas. They may get some light snow there

But that wasn't expected. Light snow, graupel reported in DFW and SW. You can see it on wundermap radar.

The front is coming in faster, harder than expected. Storm 2k'ers have pointed out that HRRR is the closest meso (model) to reality right now.

Time to go cover the outdoor faucets. The front has blasted through Waco. We have 30-40 min maybe.

Yeah it looks like the HRRR is currently handling the temps the best.

Gonna be fun driving back from Georgetown in a bit. Lots of perpendicular wind and dummies on the road is not a good combo.

Mets in Beaumont saying arrival around 4-5pm. Thinking it will be much sooner. Just finished wrapping all my pipes and headed to moms to do hers. Fun fun.

It’ll most likely be sooner than that so yeah, you’re right!

It’s happened before and with the wind, it’s not out of the realm of possibilities.

It’s already 12 degrees just outside of Fort Worth. Temps are way lower than forecast up there!
