I was out earlier and it looked like snow grains were falling. It was light but noticeable.

Yeah, NW Harris Co. seemed like the line based on mesos and models.NWHouston wrote: ↑Sat Jan 24, 2026 8:32 pmWe cant call it a bust since the forcast never really called for much south of conroe which is why I did not understand why they cancelled all the schools for monday but earlier today it did look like the freeze line was going to push through early enough for some wintery precipitation in the srping area. I think its pretty clear at this point we may not even freeze tonight
But it's dipping under freezing now in Houston as there is no warm nose now to slow the cold advection.
23°F and peaked from 20°F early this morning... going nowhere in CLL. NW 15 mph winds pointed at Harris Co.

Solar energy through the clouds on dark asphalt through the clouds. Some heat from the attic as well. Modern homes aren't a 100% airtight.Brazoriatx979 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 12:34 pmYa, thats strange. I thought about taking some of my bottles of water and tossing it on the roof to make icicles lolCpv17 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 12:20 pmTell me about it. It’s so hard to time everything up down here. I do find it weird though that water is dripping off my roof at 27°.Brazoriatx979 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 12:16 pm Mannnnn if only we had some moisture now...since everyone is below freezing

Warmest part of the day now and failed to hit the 30’s, well below the forecasted high. Made it to 29° for the high here.

Cannot confirm, but a poster on S2K stated it was snowing in Conroe? Lake effect snow, I wonder.

Most ice locations found to the north and west of the Houston metro area generally outside of SH 99 with the exception US 290 at Mason Rd.
Most roadways have dried across the rest of the area and minus a few icy patches most roadways will likely be fine this evening into Monday morning.
Watch for any frozen surfaces where any water has collected from the recent rains.
Locations where ice is in place will remain in place into Monday andraod conditions will remain dangerous.

Are we in the clear for any power outages since we didn’t get any major icing?

Like ice fog. Low to the ground and particles too small and dispersed for radar to pick it up. Light rain mists in the winter here in SETX are often not picked up on the radar. They only leave a trace.

Looks about right. I've not seen anyone driving up here in CLL. I haven't ventured past the mailbox, which is frozen solid!tireman4 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 4:10 pm Jeff Lindner on Facebook

We were teased in Houston with this storm. It’s like the hot girl having interest in you, you go on a date with her and then she say it was a nice date but we will stay friends. We got some freezing rain but it was too warm for it to really matter.

24 currently and wind biting. Never got above 26. Top layer of sleet partially melted on street making it completely unwalkable, let alone drivable.
