We’re entering the middle range now. I would expect the models to start backing off the cold slowly each run.

Dang. Temp was 56 at 6am and now at 10am its 45. We might not get out of the 40s today in Beaumont. Been raining solid for a few hours now.

12z GFS is very cold with a 1044mb high sitting over north central Texas valentines weekend lol.The air is much drier also because of that and the shortwave(s) doesn't really produce any precipitation in the cold air. While the ICON still has an ice storm.

12z CMC and ICON are still very cold also with the CMC showing a wintry mix on valentines day. We still have a ways to go before we really have a good idea on how next week will turn out.

Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the models be so aggressive with the cold. Not even in 2018.

Wow, the Euro just threw a wrench in everything. No arctic air at all through next Friday. 65 degrees for a high on Saturday. The 12z CMC has a high of 21 degrees at the same time. LOL

Yeah it’s just one run so I wouldn’t put much stock in it. It’s the outlier right now. More interested in seeing the ensembles.
