I see storms are off shore this morning and perhaps folks S of I-10 can get some rain today.

The pattern is shifting to a somewhat unsettled regime as Easterly waves traverse the Gulf. In fact the 6Z GFS suggests a weak tropical disturbance nearing the Texas/Louisiana Coast next week. The 00Z GEFS ensemble also suggests the potential is there for some weak tropical mischief. Looks like some additional relief is possible for those needing rain and a break from the heat wave.

Ok so it got its act together and I got a quick inch in about a half hour. It really blew up west of me

I was so excited when I woke-up to a 60% chance of rain and checked the radar.

The outflow just bypassed me without a drop. The whole line just fizzled up here. I’ve had no rain since June.

CMC and GEFS are picking up on a potential MDR system as well.

The rain is really weak out there. Nothing but light sprinkles. Not even enough to make the ground wet.

I got .09" at my house. I will take every trace I can get and the clouds are a huge relief from the 102 degree heat I have been registering on my weather station the past 5 or 6 days straight.

Shafted two times on the same day now. Another cluster was approaching from the ENE, gets to 59 and poof. Meanwhile it’s a toasty 96 degrees here.

A bust up in the Brazos Valley after being Charlie Brown and the football-ed with a 60% chance this morning. Heck, I'm just grateful this time of year to have clouds blocking the sun! and taking some load off the A/C!

Nice little sea breeze showers kicking up, reaching just past Conroe. I doubt it will make it here, but at least there are some clouds.

I got soaked 4 times today. Was down at Bastrop Bayou fishing and had 3 rounds of rain come down on me roughly an hour apart each time. Got home to clean up my blue crab and got soaked one more time for good measure.

I met my daughter-in-law on the outskirts of Brenham, yesterday evening to pick up my Grandson. I left New Waverly and went the "back way" through Richards/Anderson/Navasota...I got rained on quite a few times on the way. And, many times I had just missed a shower... the road was steaming and wet. Back, at home, just a few little sprinkles.

From the afternoon Houston-Galveston NWS AFD (Area Forecast Discussion):

Models are continuing to show a system heading toward the Texas coast around a Thursday/Friday time period with some carrying a weak closed low and othersjust showing an inverted trough. We`ll watch to see what the models do with this system over the next several days.

Hopefully nothing but a well needed rainmaker for Texas.
