If the February 1895 snowfall happened today, the city would be shutdown for a week.

LOL

Just as predicted earlier on, per NWS, though we still have warnings and what-not, the official current forecast is not even remotely suggesting a "winter storm". If not for being disappointed this whole thing would be hilarious. What happened to the blizzard, you all? If the NWS is right today good luck and tracing down a flake or two.

Afternoon update from Jeff:

Radar shows precipitation is starting to develop near Matagorda Bay and will be spreading across the area over the next few hours.

Freezing line is along a Conroe to The Woodlands to Katy to Wharton line and will begin to progress southward late this afternoon.

Conditions will rapidly deteriorate late this afternoon and early this evening with ice accumulation on bridges and overpasses. Freezing rain will likely begin to change to sleet and snow late tonight into early Monday. Meso scale models continue to show some convective features that may significantly enhance rates over isolated areas.

Time is just about up for cold weather preparations and residents should be heading to where they are going to be for the duration of this event at this time.

Not sure if you’re trolling at this point or what. It’s going to happen. Everyone is telling you it is. Radar showing it will.

Not sure what you want at this point. Lol.

Seriously??? This is no time for downplaying. The storm is not even here yet. Things have progressed quite nicely as expected so far imo.

That's just his 'style'. ;)

We're all fear mongers and overblow everything. Nobody should take this particular event lightly. I stand by that it's potentially a winter storm equivalent to a cat 5 hurricane.

I'll be more than happy to be completely wrong...

Gonna be an epic event. I haven't experienced cold like this since I lived in Michigan in the 80's and 90's. Stay off the roads and keep warm. Remember to use those space heaters responsibly and don't use generators inside. Unfortunately, there are some that don't heed these warnings until it is too late. Be safe!!!!
