On cue, the Euro ran colder, more westward, and with wintery mischief now in Texas with this afternoon's run...naturally, with a hole around an unmentionable highway. College Station and Houston are in on the predicted action, which appears to be mostly ice for now.

I’m not so sure the core of this cold will slide east. When the CPC speaks, you listen. Especially with this strong of a signal:

This potentially could rival the outbreak from January of 2018. Still a long ways to go.

0z GFS is now getting onboard showing periods of mix precipitation in central and southeast Texas, even along the coast.Next Thursday/Friday. 0z ICON is even more aggressive though with what would be a major ice storm if it were to verify.

That's what I like to hear! Hopefully we get our turn this time...ill pass on the ice tho
0z CMC also has a major ice storm over southeast Texas. Unfortunately though if you're looking for snow around here. This is not the best setup, as the arctic air looks to be pretty shallow. This is more than likely to be an ice event for us, with snow possibly well to the north. The CMC,GFS and ICON are very cold also after the ice storm into valentines weekend. As they all show the temperature staying at or below freezing for possibly several days straight.
How many hours or days will the Houston area be below freezing?
Its too early to really know how long we could be below freezing. We still have a ways to go before the forecast is fine tuned.

Anybody have the 00Z Euro?
It’s all fun and games until the power goes out. Be careful what you wish for.
Getting ready to plant spring crops, it sure is getting dry. When do you all see us getting any significant rain?
