I'm pulling for you all! It's snowing big time here on the Smoky Mountains this evening. My current forecast is calling for a foot of snow before it ends tomorrow evening. Fingers crossed for my SE Texas neighbors!

I wouldn’t get my hopes up south of I10. Those in the Woodlands and north and west stand a much better chance.
Lucy comes into play within 24 hours, not 72 hours. A lot changes with Winter Weather in SETX 3 days out for good and bad.

That map looks more like it with a central Texas passing with wrap around....Stormlover2020 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 9:04 pm https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/analysi ... cus_27.png

00 gfs look boring
I drove down from College Station to Houston with the kids...and to see those mammoth flakes on 290 near 1960. By the time we got to Gessner there were 2-3 inches on the grass. Then the thermostat stuck on the van and the vehicle overheated 3 blocks from my wife's brother during a snowstorm. We walked the rest of the way in the pouring, heavy snow.

It was the first time my kids ever saw snow in person. An unforgettable Christmas Eve.

After a quick look at the models this morning, I'm not seeing a single one that brings snow to any parts of Southeast Texas. Maybe a few flurries mixed with rain for places north of I-10 as the system pulls away. If I'm missing something, let me know.

Looking that way..it was never really a guarantee it would snow here anyway. Maybe a flake or 2 on the far north countiesredneckweather wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 7:07 am After a quick look at the models this morning, I'm not seeing a single one that brings snow to any parts of Southeast Texas. Still 2 days out, remember models suck with winter weather down in this area, usually it can throw meteorologist for a loop!!

I wonder what the forecast looked like 2 days prior to the December 2017 event?

Remember, (This is quoting Travis Herzog last night, whom I respect) this system is still 1500 miles from us. A slight bit on the track can make huge difference. The models will waffle to and fro up until the event. The trend is your friend.
