Still patiently waiting in Beaumont. Looks like the main convergence split a little to the west...Bet we go right in between...

Flooded here in Pearland
Once this line passes south and east when are we expecting to see the next rain event?
Tornado Warning.
I knew that had to be right.

Tax Day 2016 and Memorial Day 2015 were caused by Mesoscale Convective System, in this case Mesoscale Convective Complex. They tend to be active at night. October 1994 happened due to tropical moisture from East Pacific Hurricane Rosa.CAK wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 8:39 pmAren't those systems different, tropical with circulation vs cold front convergence or does it not matter?Ptarmigan wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 8:37 pmSome of the most intense rains have fallen at night like Thrall 1921, Amelia, Claudette, October 1994, Allison, Memorial Day 2015, Tax Day 2016, and Harvey.srainhoutx wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 8:25 pm
No. We are expecting this activity to probably increase a bit as the activity to our SW and West make their way NE and East. Long night ahead.
Thanks!! Very interesting.Ptarmigan wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 11:44 pmTax Day 2016 and Memorial Day 2015 were caused by Mesoscale Convective System, in this case Mesoscale Convective Complex. Didn't last more than a min or so here. Old school enough that I had an idea of the size when it was hitting the roof before jumping outside and confirming.Kingwood36 wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2019 12:02 amIm in angleton for the night at my moms and we just got hit with hail as well
This may be the most lightning I’ve ever seen in one night.

Lasted about a good 15 mins here..im scared to go outside and look at my truck lol
I know a person who is a first responder, and to here them tell it tonight was one of the most intense nights in their multi-year career. Rain so intense it reduces visibility to a few feet, lighting so intense it turns everything blue, constant lighting barrages (sometimes less than a football field away) taking out transformers by the droves and hitting buildings, all the lights going out and being unable to see if the road is going up or down or just straight because its raining that intensely, wind blowing hard enough to cause sideways rain, golf ball size hail forcing the responder to take shelter underneath underpasses, ect. These "Emergency flash flood warning! Take shelter now!" texts that blow up your phone cause an entirely different reaction when your job requires you to be out there in it and the water is already up to the hubcaps. Busy night for them, a lot of high water rescues going on.
Well Beaumont finally got it around 12:30am and it was a doozy. Gusts up to 55 according to my wx station and so far tonight we have picked up 5.26” making my total for today 8.14”. My neighborhood street is a raging river right now. NWSLC issued a FFWarn for Beaumont so if any local peeps are here, don’t venture out to go sight seeing. This is far from over. Many roads are impassable Atm. Some cars have even stalled out in front of my house. 2 more systems to go before this comes to an end Saturday evening. Stay safe everyone. If you dont have to get on the roads, dont.

What are we looking at as far as timing for the next systems forecasted to come through?

Still storming by the bay and coast at 4:30 a.m. Lots of schools closed. There was a tornado in Tiki Island last night headed to Galveston. There is a storm coming up from Corpus its riding the coast and this will be our next coastal storm by early morning. It should clear by noon...then tonight more storms come in.
