watch the loop of radar estimated precip, at 1st glance it looks like the totals went down, but no... they had to change the "inches" that corresponded to the colors - "white" is currently 14" now

Watching carefully new storm development to the SW of DT Houston. Currently seeing some training which is worrisome regarding the Flood potential.

My thoughts exactly.
I would not be surprised if some areas see 20 inches once it is all over.

Redevelopment to the southwest is not encouraging, especially for a day that most models indicated little in precipitation.

There's going to be a problem here in Fort Bend if we get anywhere near the rain forecasted for the rest of the week.

Recommend checking morning news for closures of roads. Rain is modeled for 10% chance overnight. I suspect the preferable route will not include 99, nor 59. I would think 290 to North Loop around to 10, then on to Beaumont.

Just kinda depends on the next few hours and how fast it drains. Also consider leaving an hour earlier.

Guess this is happening too early to be called the 2019 Mother's Day Flood.

Looking like with sunset and the accompanying lack of diurnal heating, the back-building is finally dying down.

An alternate to 105 could be to take Hwy 30 to Huntsville, which turns into 190, then come down 287 at Woodville to Beaumont. Cleveland hasn't been getting pummeled like New Caney, but it hasn't been spared. Livingston hasn't had much, today.
