I don't know if that's necessarily good news for us or now. A warm core system would tend to consolidate the rains near the core, or west of here. A cold-core convective system has the potential of setting-up training feeder bands off the Gulf. Pick your poison, either way.
Yep, no potent "inner bands." We're in the middle of the large "eye" in College Station. There are spotty wrap-around showers in the Hill Country to Victoria. Houston area should see a few as the low moves east, but fingers crossed on lack of a sustained deluge during the weekend. No real training with cells moving along around the circulation.

Here on the south side, at least in the Friendswood area, we've been spared much of the severe flooding. Tonight may be our turn. Not hoping for it, but I know our lucky breaks could be over.

Last time I checked the radar there were just a few storms at the coast. That was around 11:30. Imagine my surprise when it started pouring here in southwest Houston. Where did this mess come from?!? LOL. I guess it's been growing for the last 1.5 hour!

I don't know, but what was previously green/yellow on the radar has, in the last 30 minutes, grown to red and orange. We now have lightning and thunder along with the rain.

I haven't missed a single refreshing of the radar in hours. lol I'm watching . . I think this is in response to the approaching surface low . . badly hammered areas are about to get hammered again looks like.

I have been watching the radar myself. The rain is expanding in coverage that's for sure. I am up in Spring and hopefully there is no training. It looks like that is what has been happening along the coast.

I'm right down the road from you on Woodlands Parkway. They were talking about the upper low going through core phase rainfall, but I didn't hear mention of the surface low, I was wondering if it was going to go through a nocturnal core phase type event tonight. this makes me nervous - that's why I haven't missed a frame all night

Gonna get hammered once again here in Beaumont. :o  Praying this disturbance will be the last. So far I have been flooded in at work 4 times this week. Spent one of those nights in my office. #refinerylife Stay safe my friends.

HRRR shows the rain band expanding and lasting through the day, it shows 3-4+ inches of rain in some areas even in Harris County, as storms start to train later on today at least according to the model. Texas WRF model also hints at this.

Street flooding happening now in Beaumont. Feeders along I-10 are quickly rising with water. Stalled vehicles are is progress. Many underpasses and ramps are impassable. Looks to be 2" fell in a 30min period. We are so waterlogged that it took seconds for our roads to go under. We haven't had as much as spring, but over the last 7 days, weve totalled close to a foot of rain! Now I am flooded in at work for the 4th day in a row. Praying the sun makes a visit real soon! Anyway, just Fyi, if your headed east on I-10 in Beaumont. Slow down. We are underwater. Turn around don't drown!!!!
