Convection and increased moisture is being pooled across the Western Gulf beneath the Upper Ridge as EPAC TS Marie moves WNW paralleling the Pacific Coast of Mexico. Marie. Is a large tropical cyclone and may end up being a Major Hurricane over the next several days. Some of the moisture pooled to our S may head this way later on Sunday into Monday as the upper ridge begins to slip E.

I can see Marie undergoing rapid intensification. When I see a tropical storm that circular, it is sign it is rapidly intensifying.

Y'all were worried about this being a dull hurricane season in the GOM?

Am I imagining things or does this projected storm look like it's zeroing in on Houston?

Paul, good grief dude, that is 16 days away. The only place that's zeroing in on is Fantasy Island.

Good Grief is right!

I don't know what that's showing, but I don't like it. Are the waters in the Gulf warm enough to support an Alicia-type Hurricane?
