Here are a couple of graphics, one from the 12Z European model indicating that the big high pressure that's been centered over Texas (and responsible for the hot/dry conditions) is heading west later this week. It should be in southern CA by next Monday as an upper-level trof takes residence over the TX coast. That should increase clouds, decrease temps, and provide a daily chance of thunderstorms.

Second graphic is a meteogram from the 12Z GFS, which indicates the big cool-down after this weekend. Only low to mid 90s next week with daily showers. I'll need to get my jacket ready!

It's going to be interesting for ERCOT this afternoon. The load is running about 500MW above yesterday and the wind is about 500MW below schedule. Looking for a peak of almost 71,000MW when the record was about 68,300MW (from 8/3/2011) up until last week.

If we can survive the next day or two, once Typhoon Molave is likely to reshuffle the weather patterns across the Northern Hemisphere and gives a well deserved break in our stagnant weather pattern. 102F currently here.

The skies are talking here in Stafford. Have had a few droplets o
f rain. The skies are really lighting up though. It is calm than the trees start swaying, than the sky lights up.

Here comes the rain I think. Weird, it started, than stopped. LIterally, the rain started, I could hear it whipping against the windows than it just stopped. I can still hear the thunder in the background.
