I've been out of town for the last two days. I checked the radar during lunch today at Cigar City Brewery at TPA. Best layover ever :-)

Anyway, the radar looked so promising. I was so excited.

Came home to .01"

At least the stuff up north is holding together, for now. We'll see what happens.

The last time I complained about lack of rain was last weekend. Since Monday I have had 7 days straight of .5 or higher amounts of rain. The lawn is all green and happy again!:)

On the flip side, my house has completely missed out on all the rain for over a week. We have had good rain just a few hundred yards down the road but not at my house. Yesterday it was a big time turd floater to our west and east but only a mist in the air at my house. Darndest thing I tell ya.

Today looks a bit drier than yesterday and that should mean only isolated showers/storms across the area and mainly associated with the sea/bay breeze, if they develop. The heat and humidity return Tuesday into Thursday as the flat upper ridge builds back across the area.

The overnight guidance continues to waffle on the late week 'cold front' that has been mentioned across the weather world and internet. Currently it appears that only a weak boundary at best may filter into Coastal Texas as the main energy and much colder air will remain well to our N and E. We may see some slightly 'cooler' temperatures mainly due to cloud cover and potential upglide showers on Saturday, but that is still a bit too far out to know with any certainty how things will play out. Oklahoma and possibly N Texas as well as W Texas and the Panhandle should see cooler temperatures with overcast skies and light showers as upsloping begins along the lee side of the Rockies. We will likely have to wait until at least late September/early October before we see that first real shot of colder air make it all the way down to the Gulf Coast.

I've had plenty of rain this past weekend. Definitely need a few days to dry out around here.

Wonderful rain down by the bay.
Sunday's storm was so wonderful it knocked all the TV's out right before the Texans scored.
Good times.

QUESTION

With this cold front zooming our way from Canada,
are we done with cane season?
