I see 1.84 inches at the Taylor Lake gauge via HCFCD. Glad you folks on the SE side got some much needed rainfall. My day was this past Sunday... :P

I haven't had a real soaker this year.

Poor Ed. It seems that wxman57 tends to be the big winner in the rainfall department and everything splits for you and Jason. Even Kludge has some rain lately in Bedias... ;)

Looking SE toward DT Houston this evening from my backyard...nice lightening show by the way.

I checked it...and only .07" here.

Maybe those old "Bear Creek Dome" people on S2K years ago were on to something...hehe.

look at Accuweather's forecast for end of June/beginning July - what are they looking at ?

almost 2 full weeks below 90 looks good, but I don't think I can wait that long for rain :(

Trying to have graduation at 7:30 in League City...OUTSIDE.

1> Please stop raining until AFTER graduation...otherwise the class gets split up and will walk at different times and will not graduate together :(

2> Why do schools on the Texas Gulf Coast have graduation ceremonies outside??

Hope all went well at Graduation this evening. I graduated from Deer Park High School in 2011 at our football stadium where it is held every year. When I graduated on June 3, 2011 there wasn't a cloud in the sky and it was a hot, muggy 90+ degrees outside and that was with it being 7pm. I have three older brothers who all graduated from DP as well outside. 2004, 2005 and 2008 were dry as well for those ceremonies. And I don't recall there being any rain in the 06, 07, 09, 10 ceremonies either. I know all schools have different graduation days, but luckily, Deer Park's graduations have been lucky when it comes to rain. Heat, not so much. However, Deer Park's graduation this week was scheduled for Thursday, but due to the severe weather, it got postponed to Friday. If weather didn't cooperate then, it would have to be moved inside the school in a gym. If that were to happen, only two people per student are invited (mom and dad usually). There would have been a lot of upset, dissappointed folks if that were to happen. DPISD is a very large district. Each graduation class is near or above 1,000 students.

Anyway, depending on the district, I'm sure graduations have to be held outside depending on size of the class and all the relatives and friends that attend. Small towns usually have graduations inside.
