The annual Houston/Galveston National Weather Service 2013 Hurricane Workshop is about 6 weeks away. This might be a great time to have a KHOU weather forum gathering.
The annual Houston/Galveston National Weather Service Hurricane Workshop aims to prepare residents for hurricane season through presentations, interactive exhibits, hurricane forecasting and more. This free event is family-friendly and open to the public. The workshop is the largest of its kind in the nation with more than 2,500 attendees each year.

I'll be there as well....
Maybe this year I'll get a better photo with David Paul.
The one I have is blurry.
Btw, does anyone read this board? (Hurricane Central that is)
Should we move this to the main page?

It does get active in here if we have a threat. Look back at Alex (2010), Lee (2011), Ernesto (2012) and Isaac (2012). We just haven't had that much activity tropical wise since the new platform came online...

wxman57 and I discussed meeting for lunch somewhere on Discovery Green across from GRB. We'll see if we can finalize some plans and a location during the next week or so. We both are rather busy, but perhaps we can do a mini meet and greet. We will see.

I hope so. I love meeting my wx friends from around the Gulf Coast and different wx sites.

One place to meet for lunchwould be right across the street from GRB - at Discovery Green park. The Lake House has shaded outdoor seating next to, well, the lake.
I stop by there all the time while on my bike rides. What time? The schedule below doesn't really allow for lunch, though 11am-12pm may be a good time (unless you need to see the talk on preparedness for people with disabilities). It would also be a good time as there won't be a line at the Lake House at 11am.

The Lake House is at 1600 McKinney for those that may not know. 11:00 AM sounds good. See you there!

If some plan on meeting across the street at the Lake House on Discovery Green then I will bike on by for lunch at 11am. I'll be on a. Reddish-orange and yellow Klein mountain bike wearing a red sleeveless jersey. Wife may be with me.
It was truly an honor meeting everyone today at the Houston NWS Weatherpalooza at the George R Brown.
It was very cool meeting David Paul - he's SO TALL!
and very kind.
Thanks y'all.

Great seeing and meeting old weather friends again. We do need to plan on doing this more often so others can join us. If wxman57 can ride his bike for 15+ miles to meet us of for some lunch, I suspect others can make it as well. Even Tireman4 made it. Thanks for posting the pics on our KHOU Board face book page, Texas Pirate!
