Back in 2005 I used the analogy that the Atlantic hurricane season reminded me of the baseball steroid scandal. What happened wasn't within the normal statistical range and IMO the record-breaking ocean warmth was the main culprit.
The analogy is being used again. This time it's being applied by NCAR/UCAR to total climate activity.
