Heavy rain has come to an end here in SGR .... no damage to report .... very beneficial rainfall though .... hoping for more and more. BTW ... the heavy rainfall event set up exactly where it needed to for our rivers up north to replenish the lakes and reservoirs a bit. Hopefully we can keep this trend going into Feb.

Still have lightning, thunder and some light to occasionally moderate rain here ... but the heavy stuff has pretty much pushed off east of me.

Update from Jeff:

Large line of severe thunderstorms with excessive rainfall pushing across Fort Bend, Brazoria, Harris, and Montgomery counties. Widespread street flooding is developing over Harris County as rainfall rates are exceeding that of the primary drainage capacities over much of the area. South Mayde Creek at Greenhouse Road is out of banks and rising. Excessive rainfall will be moving toward Liberty, central/SE Harris/southern Fort Bend and Brazoria counties over the next 2 hours. Severe threat remains along and east of the main squall line from Liberty to Pearland to Palacios. Tornado is shown strongly by radar near Pearland moving E at 45mph.

How fast is this line moving? Once it passes are we in the clear or more lingering rain showers?
