We're at the point now to where you can put the models away and look out your window and look at the radar. Today is the day it snows/snowed in Houston!
My gut feeling tells me it will snow and we will get a good one. It was quite cold today.
If that's true, why was everyone pointing to them just 24 hours ago as the 'truth.' So what happened??skidog38 wrote:any snow that has fallen in the past in houston, models have been clueless

Hey Dan, I'd be curious as to what YOU think will happen--all models and guidance aside.wxdata wrote:If that's true, why was everyone pointing to them just 24 hours ago as the 'truth.' So what happened??skidog38 wrote:any snow that has fallen in the past in houston, models have been clueless

Something wicked this way comes.

I'm leaning on the snow accumulation side, especially north and northwest. Less sure about same for metro Houston.Candy Cane wrote:Hey Dan, I'd be curious as to what YOU think will happen--all models and guidance aside.wxdata wrote:If that's true, why was everyone pointing to them just 24 hours ago as the 'truth.' I feel a "winter bears watch" coming on.
But wait! Don't bears hibernate in the winter?

I've been up 36 hours. I just can't break away from from the weather. I need professional help. Steve, can you arrange a meeting for me?

Haha I am up too. I think we all do. Think how much more we could accomplish if we didn't follow weather.Candy Cane wrote:I've been up 36 hours. I just can't break away from from the weather. I need professional help. Steve, can you arrange a meeting for me?

I hear Portastorm has a good therapist. Although he is no longer allowed to look at the GFS as part of the therapy.Candy Cane wrote:I've been up 36 hours. I just can't break away from from the weather. I need professional help. Steve, can you arrange a meeting for me?

Hmmmm already thinking ahead...
FOR THE SYSTEM ON FRIDAY...DID NOT CHANGE MUCH OF THE CURRENT
FORECAST. THE LATEST GFS INDICATES THAT THE RAIN MAY END EARLIER
ON FRIDAY THAN NOW FORECAST. THE THIRD SYSTEM EARLY NEXT WEEK
OCCURS IN A PATTERN THAT IS RATHER SIMILAR TO EARLY THIS WEEK. AT
LEAST WE CAN EXPECT A COLD RAINY PATTERN TO BEGIN SUNDAY AND END
BY TUESDAY. WILL NEED TO STAY TUNED AS TO THE MODEL TRENDS ON HOW
COLD THE AIRMASS COULD GET.

Whoever gets the snow enjoy it! That means you Portastorm. A very light dusting for Houston metro. Not holding out for much and believe there will be more disappointed people than happy. I remember several Winter events in the 80s that never materialized as forecasted. I will take my 2004 and 2008 snow miracles and be happy.
