Precip types are all over the place in the Dallas area. Most interesting, however, is the freezing line is racing well ahead of schedule. Bad news for the rush hour commute across Dallas

Mix of rain and snow at DFW. Freezing rain around the Ft Worth area... Lots of sleet mixed with snow and rain just to the NW of the Metroplex

Wow that's literally a real big mess up there Mr. T considering all the storms then mixing issues in a short time! I'd hate to be a forecaster up there currently!:)

127 AM CST TUE FEB 1 2011

...ROADS BECOMING IMPASSABLE ACROSS THE BIG COUNTRY AND NORTHERN
CONCHO VALLEY...

AT 1 AM...MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW ALONG WITH SOME SLEET WAS FALLING
FROM SAN ANGELO NORTH ACROSS THE BIG COUNTRY. THE HEAVIEST SNOW
WAS FALLING WEST OF AN ABILENE TO SAN ANGELO LINE...WHERE COUNTY
SHERIFF OFFICES REPORTED VERY SLICK ROADWAYS AND VISIBILITIES NEAR
ZERO AT TIMES. EAST OF A SAN ANGELO TO ABILENE LINE...A MIXTURE
OF RAIN AND SLEET WAS FALLING...BUT A TRANSITION TO SLEET AND
SNOW WILL OCCUR BY 2 AM AS COLDER AIR FILTERS INTO THE AREA.
PRECIPITATION WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES...WITH SOME THUNDER AND
LIGHTNING POSSIBLE.

THE FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF SNOW AND SLEET TOTALS AS OF 1 AM.


2 TO 3 INCHES SNOW (ABILENE)

2 TO 3 INCHES SLEET/SNOW (COKE COUNTY)

1 TO 2 INCHES SLEET (SHACKELFORD COUNTY)

2 TO 3 INCHES SLEET/SNOW (FISHER COUNTY)

1/2 INCH SLEET (RUNNELS COUNTY)

1/2 INCH SLEET/SNOW (TOM GREEN COUNTY)

WOW.. front has passed Llano, TX, just nw of Austin. Current temp already 35, with a north wind of 52 mph!! :shock:

Looks to be ahead of schedule!

Llano, TX now 32, temps are busting like crazy tonight.
They forecasted a low of 35..

Temps drop 30 degrees with FROPA.
Austin was sitting at 67, now 37.
This is insane.

Same at Camp Mabry...

Temp was 66 @ 3 am. 39 @ 4 am...

Front will be passing through CLL in the next hour ahead of schedule

A more detailed look:

The temperature at 2:51 am was 66 degrees. The temperature fell to 41 degrees at 3:36 am. A 25 degree drop in 45 minutes

HGX increases snow chances to 60 percent friday. Also lowers temps for tonight...

Also worth mentioning, HGX has added freezing rain for the far NW counties, including College Station, for this afternoon...

Wow, HGX really going for it now. All smiles when our board wakes up and checks their location. Tomorrow is gonna be a big day, media should start to pick-up, accumulations might be talked about by the pros, and old time members should be on the boards. Back to bed. Laterz.

Mr T do you think any of that will advance towards the Houston area? Or will the moisture be just rain and then it dries out?
