MSN as far as I know has little to no forecaster involvement and as a result takes the data straight from the models. As a result that is most likely why they have it at 70% tonight. It isn't going to happen though
18z for what it is worth has a cold period ahead for us:

When he starts talking snow I start to believe. Otherwise, it's just dream-casting.
This is true and I know it well. Wxman57 has been a voice of "reason" to me for many years over at S2K. As he says, he "calls them as he seems them" and my experience has been that his vision is quite good!
We are hoping he will change allegiance and become Mr Snow Miser!!!
First off I am going to give you a location to work with for my question - Jackson County 7 miles south of hwy. 59 at El Toro (25 miles west of Victoria) and Vanderbilt. At 4:53 NWS issued the severe thunderstorm warning and by 5 a.m. we had the train sound overhead for a very brief time. The radar showed what appeared to be a bow line as it approached us. This was a very colorful radar with purple, red and orange. We are curious if anyone has heard if it was a tornado or the downdraft winds.
Some of the damage done is large tree branches knocked out of trees, uprooted trees, holes in roofs, shingles missing, porch roofs and lean tos on barns were lifted up and over the buildings (torn completely off).
I am very thankful that I have found this forum because it was ya'lls posts that let me be aware of the chance of severe weather. This is also where I go for hurricane season being we are on the coast.
You are welcome. We are all pleased you became a member.
Everyone in here works together for a common goal. That is not only to scratch our itch for wacky weather, but to help keep the public safe. Many of us have posted here for years. Some amateur, some pro, that forms a sort of forecasting umbrella that can be precise as anything else you can find elsewhere. Sometimes we dream, other times we disagree, but you will always get someone in this forum to help you out. Nothing but the facts. This has truly been the only forum I've been a member of that feels like Family.

Yea not as strong as the 18z but being 160+ hours out I know a lot will change. One thing good about this time around versus this Arctic blast now is the cold air is already in Canada/ building in Canada as we speak so hopefully the models will be a little better in consistency this time around.
It is weird that it just stops... Hmm we will worry about this later. Time to see what next week brings for us.
