This may go in east of Sabine looking at the eye movement but it does appear to be slowing slightly.

well at least its cloudy outside. If you didn't know it was still summer you would think it was cold outside if you were looking out the window

Edouard appears to be intensifying right now as he is making his final approach to landfall. Observing occasional lightning in the eyewall and a more defined eyewall on radar as well.

From Travis Herzog on Facebook
11:30AM Tuesday Tropical Storm Edouard Update
The Weather Prediction Center has issued a "moderate risk" of flash flooding for parts of Southeast Texas. The red zone marks out the most likely locations where the heavy "core tropical rains" will fall along Edouard's path later today and tonight. If Edouard doesn't wobble westward, Houston and Harris County will see more manageable rain totals than places in Chambers, Liberty, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, and Walker Counties.
There is a chance a feeder band on the south side of Edouard's circulation will set up somewhere over Houston and Harris County tonight, and if that occurs, there will be a localized risk of flash flooding in parts of town tonight and Wednesday morning.|
Keep in mind that the Raincast graphic displayed here is just one computer model run and the totals do not reflect the range of possible outcomes you could encounter. My basic takeaway from all the computer model projections is that the highest rainfall totals likely end up in a corridor parallel to I-45 just east of Houston with the potential for over 6" totals along the path. Once you get west of those core rains, totals will generally be less than in inch, and again, some of you farther west of the track won't get a drop of rain.

Not until october, although on the bright side, pretty much unanimous agreement between global models that the state sees some pretty healthy rain chances the next 2 weeks, GFS is especially stormy

I personally think the worst of summer is behind us now. Seasonal forcing will begin soon now that we are in September. Will probably see Pacific crossovers in October.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2026 1:31 pm Not until october, although on the bright side, pretty much unanimous agreement between global models that the state sees some pretty healthy rain chances the next 2 weeks, GFS is especially stormy

captainbarbossa19 yup, and taking a look at noaa’s precipitation outlooks today, expanding odds of above normal precipitation in west texas, every where else is near normal, but that expansion looks to me like more moisture from the pacific and troughing out west are going to start enhancing rainfall over the state in the 6/10 and 8/14 day outlooks,

71 mph gusts being reported in sabine pass/Port Arthur. Raining pretty hefty in Beaumont with winds gusting to about 35-40. Will be gusting to about 60 in about another hour or two in Beaumont. Sorry Houston. I know yall needed this rain and a little excitement. Never say never. Just see how this all plays out.
