Even the later 18z gfs is showing more rain and the stronger ridging shifting towards the eastern US down the road.

(Please hurry)

I partially blame this on the "100 degrees is better than 30 degrees crowd." Shush.
I’ll take 100 over 30. I can’t do jack outside when it’s 30°. Yesterday I did 7 miles between 6pm-7:30pm and I was just fine.
I will take 30 over 100. 30 is good for starwatching. 8-)

Yes, I was noticing this as well. Although it is too far out, the Euro is showing in its extreme long range a rather dangerous pattern for the Gulf. The ridge builds over the eastern seaboard while a trough is located over the Rockies into the Northern Plains. El Niño definitely will be problematic for systems in the Atlantic, but it only takes one to find good conditions and we have a different story.
El Niño has more effect on Tropical Atlantic than Gulf. Gulf is less affected by El Niño.

We got a small shower out of Bertha this evening. Better than nothing.

7 day forecast in CLL looks typical going into August.

The ridging stays mostly SW (more NW flow) then disappears. Early August looks *potentially* wet. No Death Ridge in sight.

Yesterday evening was pretty awesome outside. I got to witness Bertha unravel into an open wave literally on top of the house in real time. Only got .05” but it was a very pleasant 79 degrees instead of 99.

Yeah, give me yesterday for the rest of the summer.

No Death Ridge on the horizon over the next 2+ weeks and the potential for unsettled weather during the first week of August.

Survive and advance.

Our local mets in Central Texas have the death ridge coming early next week...

Maybe next week, but by early August that ridge is packing its bags and moving. Models and ensembles are in pretty good agreement that the ridge is going to move from being over texas to re positioning itself over the far western US in early august, that leaves SE texas open to rain chances returning, but also means this ridiculous heat should back down some

That's not a Death Ridge.

It's barely ridging and we're in the N/W flow. 8-) Highs of 97-98°F = normal.

Yup, and even still normal is still stupid hot lol. Id consider it a death ridge if the heat dome gets to 600 DM or higher

The worst ridging per the Ensembles is today and tomorrow. I'll even through in a rare species: the August FROPA sometime in the month.
