Extreme heat warnings are out. Dew points are in the low 80’s. Feels like temps are going to be ridiculous today. Be careful out there.

I know 2023 comes to mind when I see modeling and the long range showing the faucet cutting off for awhile. Below normal precip from July through the rest of summer looking at cpc maps. The current heat is no help too!

Careful with long range outlooks, models have been absolutely atrocious past 10 days, and the same models showing a massive heat ridge pattern parking over texas have been consistently wrong about this so far this summer, yes it will still get hot in the summer lol, but ill bet on models being dry in the long range, only to correct back wet once we get to that time period the models are showing to be “ stupid hot and dry”.

I don't see ANY upper level Death Ridge set up through the end of June on Euro, GFS, Canadian...and y'all know how I feel about the Death Ridge! lol
Still, heat index of 114.5° IMFY and DP of 81°F. Ridiculous. It's 1994 Chicago hot out there. Be careful and limit outside activity unless you have or are in a pool!

They only make measurements 1-2 times an hour at Easterwood. I tracked a peak a little while ago. That 4 inches of rain turned our neighborhood into a sauna. The airport saw less than 2 inches and they have better drainage.
At this temp 3-4°F increase in DP can mean a 10°F rise in heat index.
Looking on Wundermap real time in our neighborhood... on the other side of town from the airport. One neighbor reports 85°F DP about 2 blocks away. HI = 126°F. Another neighbor near the creek has a DP of 82°F, temp of 101°F, HI = 127°F
It's insane here.

Temp = 94.6°F
DP = 82°F
HI: 119°F
Crazy.

Every Wundermap station within 2 miles has a DP of 80°F to 84°F. Heat indexes 115 - 130°F+. In 2023 the temp was higher but the DP was around 69°F. 123°F HI. Yep, that what I remember.

This is insane from earlier today and it was random; it could have been higher at some point.
Keep in mind, this is a Davis Vantage station, too.
Also - it’s 9:15 and the heat index is still 103

IMFY
88°F Temp
80°F DP
105°F HI
It's not even 11 am.
Relief on the way? Allegedly a 50% chance.

Storms are starting to pop on the radar, even S of 10. Some very heavy rain rates in these storms this weekend. Tons of energy out there for them to tap into.
