Tell me about it. It’s so hard to time everything up down here. I do find it weird though that water is dripping off my roof at 27°.Brazoriatx979 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 12:16 pm Mannnnn if only we had some moisture now...since everyone is below freezing

Long time “lurker” and decided to create an account. I’m in the far Southwest(Jackson County) part of the HGX CWA.
I’m always amazed with these Artic fronts how we get colder much quicker than points Northeast. We got to freezing about 10PM last night. Fortunately, just had drizzle/light rain. Enough to coat everything in a thin layer of ice. Currently 28….do not think we will get above freezing(unless the sun comes out).

Freezing temperatures in place for most areas currently except the coastal areas. Ice formation appears to have stopped as we have not notice any new ice areas in the last few hours. Transportation crews are working on icy bridges to the north and west. Deepending on how much sun breaks through the low clouds most of the area is likey to remain below to right around freezing this afternoon.
Power outages are mainly focused in the hard hit ice areas of E and NE TX.

So is the chance still on for next week for wintery precipitation or has that come and gone?

Holding between 28-30 here in ORN. We’re not expecting any other precip right? If we can get over the overpass now we should in the morning?

It could easily freeze again overnight, so no, not necessarily. That’s why a lot of places have closed for tomorrow.christinac2016 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 25, 2026 2:22 pm Holding between 28-30 here in ORN. Power ponder
Another Arctic Blast Coming…
A cold week ahead with well below average temperatures. Nighttime lows stay below freezing all week. We slowly try to melt some of the sleet and snow over the last couple of days. Thursday appears to be the warmest day of the week ahead with highs in the low 40s.
Another blast of colder air arrives by Friday knocking highs back to near freezing. Lows in the teens and low 20s. A cold end to January. As of right now any precipitation may be in Central Texas next weekend. #Texas #January #weekend
