That would be unpleasant to deal with.
Tropical Discussion 2025
My minds jumps to Tom Cruise in MI4: Ghost Protocol and getting stuck (or not so stuck!) on the glass facade of the Burj Khalifa skyscraper.
1.45 inches over the Labor Day weekend - I'd take that. A soooooo tired of watering. Plus, our Na+ and CaCl2 filled water worsens brown patch season...and that's just over a month away.

I know its just Sept 1st, but this has been one of the quietest Hurricane Season in a while.
Yep, not really any threats to the Caribbean or Gulf. Bermuda high is causing pretty much everything to recurve out to sea.AtascocitaWX wrote: ↑Mon Sep 01, 2025 12:08 pm I know its just Sept 1st, but this has been one of the quietest Hurricane Season in a while.
FROPA in the Gulf at this time of year. It's getting some mid-level shear, but something to watch out for.

Over 1,000 reported dead in Sudan landslide

Sudan had rounds of heavy rain, which led to deadly landslide. Some of those storms that form over Northeastern Africa become tropical waves. It maybe why Atlantic has been quiet.
Satellite Data Gives Context to Reports of Significant Rain in the Sahara Desert

The Sahara Desert was very wet in August to September 2024. The thunderstorms that become tropical waves went further north than usual. One reason why August 2024 was quiet. I would look at how wet the Sahara is and how it can impact Atlantic hurricane season.
