Lots of talk about a big split of the Polar Vortex that could bring much colder weather to the US in the 2nd week of february
Bring it tf on!!!Stratton20 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2025 3:27 pm Lots of talk about a big split of the Polar Vortex that could bring much colder weather to the US in the 2nd week of february

Can you believe we will be back into the upper 70s to low 80s soon? Will those temps last past week two. Stay tuned.

Hey gang... As of today, the next cold snap is still an IF for us. There is some disagreement on whether it stays well north. As mentioned before, it would be short lived if we were to see any of it.
We've had our fun. An early Spring looks to be on tap.

Incorrect, if anything spring is starting to look like its going to be delayed largely, models are showing a complete split of the polar vortex during week 2 of february, if that happens, and their is decent confidence that it will, that almost ensures a cold rest of february, but also cold march and lingering into April because of downstream impacts, we are far from done
Today's a bit windy, but it qualifies as a Chamber of Commerce Day. Tomorrow is almost as good.
Sunny and temps in the 60s. DP = 40°F. NW 17 G 25 Love it. I may finally get to mow the backyard and put down pre-emergence! lol

Not going to happen with the arctic air making it down here. Models were showing last week it would be the end of the first week of February. Then the models pushed it back and now models are showing the second half of February. Usually that is a strong sign of it not even happening. I’m perfectly fine with that. Come on sunshine and heat! I’m ready to jump in the surf for some trout fishing.

Lol youre going to be waiting a while for that, the cold is absolutely coming back with a vengeance in the 2nd week of february, it is happening, a complete split of the polar vortex is showing up on all models, that means a very cold 2nd half of february and a very late start to spring, cold impacts could persist into march! Bring it on! That heat can stay where it belongs in Florida!
Models are beginning to look interesting towards Valentine’s Day. This looks to have some meat on the bone too so it looks more believable.
Crazy dry air. From 32°F for the low to 75°F IMFY. DP of 33°F
Brilliant sunshine.
Brilliant sunshine.
Looks like modified arctic air taking a shot at Texas Feb 11-15+ on some of the models and Ensembles. I think anyone south of Navasota will be disappointed through.

, could get alot colder than what is shown given several major players will be coming together to make for a very interesting 2nd half of february , all of the teleconnections go negative including the NAO which was missing in january, add a potential split of the polar vortex in the mix and its game on for extreme cold, arctic air will overwhelm the se ridge eventually as it always done
Way too far out. Could potentially be WAY colder than that. Or it might not be cold at all. Cards on the table for significant cold though.
