It wouldnt take much of a shift by that low to drag those really heavy snow totals right into the houston metro, someone could see a foot+ potentially, some bull-eyes of 15-18 inches on the global models, you just do not see that down here, could be an event for the ages potentially

Actually, you’d see the most snow in that setup albeit not a ton.

What he said was the qpf would drop for most and only places south of i10 would see snow, but it would be light.

Coastal lows have produced good snows south of I-10 before. It can happen again.

NAM is much colder than the GFS and a bit colder than Euro.

Lol, right on cue, Globals are not handling temps well.

One forecast has us 50-70% Mon/Tues and then 80% again on Friday, although that says rain/snow mix

I was wondering this morning about the NAM. It usually handles weather ( not so much Tropical) better, at times, than the GFS and Euro.

That’s what I was thinking too, but in Feb 21 I got sleet at 20°. Never saw snow.

Snow instead of ice/sleet/frozen rain, which would be a Godsend for the power grid

Generally, the more snow, the better the transmission lines will hold up
