Gorgeous 29 degrees and sun with a foot of snow on the ground.

Here’s to me bringing some of that back to SETX!
There's still plenty of snow on the ground in Arkansas, Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas. Easy sledding for arctic air.

I stay in the HWY 99/Klien area near Hooks Airport and that would be nearly a foot of snow which is crazy. But we have seen extreme weather patterns in Houston from Hurricane Ike, Harvey, Beryl to the 2021 Winter Storm/Extreme
Cold, 2008, 2009 snow, with many instances of ice storm events that closed the city down for a day or two

Any winter precipitation that fall likely shuts the city down for at least 2 days with this type cold weather

We may be looking at the first statewide winterstorm since Feb 2021.*That does not mean it will get as cold as 2021 though. And temps are TBD*.Recent statewide winterstorms that I can remember include the February 2011 multi day storm, when even Corpus and the Valley received an ice storm. Another statewide winterstorm i remember was the January 2007 multi day ice storm that effected most of the state with ice.

From Hou/Gav NWS

The main takeaway is that we now have medium to high confidence (40-
50% chance) that wintry precipitation will occur over southeast
Texas during the first half of next week. All winter precipitation
types are still on the table right now, but broadly speaking
guidance and the NBM seem to still favor snow as the dominant precip
type. Areas north of the I-10 are more likely to see snow/mix of
sleet. Areas to the south may see a mix of snow/sleet/freezing rain
and potentially liquid rain right along the barrier
islands/nearshore waters. As for how much snow/sleet/ice,
uncertainty is too high to put a specific amount on it just yet.
Broadly speaking, it`s more snow to the north and more ice to the
south. We`ll have a better idea of "how much" over the next few
days, but for now we should prepare for some accumulating winter precip
