It was not without its cost. Water found its way through my roof somewhere so now I get to go exploring.
March 2024
Yep we have to remember that the 2010's consisted of multiple droughts and was a drier than normal decade. This may skew the perception of Summers being normally dry here..But climatology wise June is Houstons wettest month on average. And pop up showers are the norm until August most years. But again it may not seem that way if your perception of the local climate is only based on the last decade or so.Cpv17 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 5:59 pmI’m not so sure about that. Not every summer here is dry and crazy hot. We do sometimes have decent summers here.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 5:54 pm Got about 2-3 inches here, finally nice to get a good rain event before the big suck kicks in, in a few months, then we will probably have to hope for a tropical wave/ system to bring us widespread rains

I completely agree with this. The 2010s in a lot of ways were analogous to the climate of the 1950s for Texas with periodic severe droughts. However, both decades are anomalous compared to the average climate.don wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 6:12 pmYep we have to remember that the 2010's consisted of multiple droughts and was a drier than normal decade. Quite a storm. More to come.
That was quite a storm that just rolled through Plum Grove. Purple cells don’t happen too often around here. Wonder what kinda hail it produced.
Wow - up to 2.65" here!! Nothing severe. Watching the next round.

Yes, next week’s drought monitor should look much better. This rain was very timely and should last us a good while (especially if it rains again Monday) but it doesn’t take long to dry out again.
