will be a warm nose present that's why we are thinking freezing rain?
Too soon to know.
Well Travis herzog said freezing rain and not snow and here's why..so i figured it was the warm nose..I didn't stick around to listen lol I changed the channel
He really can’t know for sure yet at this point anyway. He said “expected” to be too warm in the upper atmosphere to support snow but I believe he also didn’t “expect” much from this front about a week ago.
Looks like a freezing rain setup, maybe ending as sleet as colder air filters through. Slightly concerned with the EURO and now GFS showing a slower system that doesn't move out till Tuesday morning. If that is the case we could be looking at a long duration of on and off freezing rain/drizzle most of Monday. We'll know more this weekend.
We've got a meeting for stake out for the foundation pad scheduled for Monday 1/15/24 at 10:00 AM near Columbus. Following this forum, I set up a back up date of Monday 1/22/24. Y'all are the best. The decades of cumulative experience on here is impressive.

It’s funny how both ABC 13 and KHOU 11 have jumped onboard with the possibility of Freezing Rain for Monday into Tuesday Morning. It may change to how much Freezing Rain and Sleet. Wonder if it possibly for Winter Weather Advisories to be hoisted by Friday night

Friday is way to soon..if they did at all the earliest would be sunday
I know with past freezing rain events, trees have fallen onto powerlines causing power outages. They often cause roads to be dangerous to travel. I can even recall thunder during freezing rain.

Jeff Linder responding to a comment about the precip
Brandon Baack it can be…just like any model…but it has been very consistent showing precip while others have been dry and now they are trending somewhat wetter.
In weather we say the trend is your friend when forecasting…and I don’t really like the trend today when it comes to post frontal precip.
Jeff is the only person my wife will listen to. It doesn't matter how many Mets on here or on Storm2k say something. If Jeff doesn't say it, it's not happening, in her opinion.

Wonder what the possibility would be if we do get sleet and it cools the layers if we could get wet bulbing

If we get ice accumulations on power lines, expect power outages.

I am thinking that could happen, which could be a problem.

Jeff is really good. I don’t blame her. He’s phenomenal with severe weather and tropical systems.
He takes a more conservative approach in Winter but most Gulf Coast Mets do, and should.
