There are tiny showers just south of CLL. I could see the rain yet again on the way home...but still, no dice.
106 to 83 in 10 min… sorry

There was a cell headed towards me, and it went poof just as everything else was building...
I think it's the sound of a baldheaded kid landing on his back after trying desperately to kick an oblong brown ball.
Everything well to the north and northeast of me and looks to be fizzling out. Nothing to the west to block the sun.
Predictions of rolling blackouts starting around 730. Demand outpaces supply.
Nah.. if it was 3-4pm then absolutely.
On another note, below is a snip from Jeff Lindner’s email about an hour ago. Looks like it could be a serious situation if they can’t get ahead of it. Those crown runs are dangerous and just spreads the fire so rapidly. Hope they can cut it off and contain it.
Shearwood Creek Fire:
Significant wildfire started this afternoon in extreme NW Jasper County. This fire has quickly burned 750 acres and is 0% contained. Radar signature of this fire is the most impressive of any I have seen thus far in 2023 with 45 DBZ noted. Crews have noted extensive crown runs in pine canopy and mandatory evacuation are in place from the Neches River to US 255. Ground crews are working defensive structure protection and attempting to cut fire lines where safe, but extreme fire behavior is creating dangerous conditions.
16,000 customers without power in Houston after that thunderstorm passed throughout. There's one way to shed load.
How do I post a picture if the storm that blew past my house?
Well, that was unexpected. A small shower riding underneath the ridge cruised through. The first rain in CLL since the July 4th weekend!

Houston tied its ALL TIME record high today and broke a daily record high today. It was also the hottest afternoon of this hot, disgusting summer so far.
111°F here. Just a degree tying the record (also tied) a few days ago.
But we got a little liquid gold out of the deal.
We may pay for it with tomorrow's am dewpoint.
