But I just wanted to point out how we've had some close calls with severe weather/tornado potential here in SE Texas over the past several weeks. Tuesday appears yet another close call for the area, but it appears the forcing will be too far away from the region for this potential to manifest into reality. After Tuesday, all attention turns towards winter weather possibilities. However, at some point in late Winter or early Spring, depending on the overall weather pattern, we may have to revisit the possibility of severe weather in our region again. The below HRRR sounding is a good example of just how close we were to a more significant severe weather episode across the area.

I hope this isn’t true, but I’m reading reports Mike Leach has passed, or will shortly.

Really, really appreciated him and his humor.

Yes indeed. Hopefully, the storm mode remains more linear with fewer discrete cells over that region.

I don’t think the operationals are realizing the true potential of this yet. Maybe in about another 4-6 days we’ll get a better idea.

Cpv17 I fully agree considering this cold air source is coming straight from Siberia

Yeah, exactly. Siberia is one of, if not the coldest place in the world along with probably Greenland and Antartica. With the ridging extending poleward, I could definitely see the jet stream capturing a big piece of that air.

Won’t be surprised if faucet covers and pipe insulation will be sold out by the end of this week in Texas!

I haven't been active awhile, but noticed from the November thread that you shifted to the Hawaii option compared to the previous Florida.

That’s always the smart approach this far out. Get it within 5 days then it might be more likely.

57 won’t change his tune till he’s 100% certain that cold is coming. He’s holding onto any hope that it’ll remain warm. He absolutely hates anything below 70°.

I never understood that guy. People who love hot and humid weather year-round are not normal.
