Thats far out, but something to watch, a 1067 mb high is no joke
1047mb highs have a hard time verifying much less 1067. That would be historic. I miss srain. He’d always write up these paragraphs for us on here if he thought something was coming. Since he moved, he rarely posts. At least half of what I know about the weather came from him.
Seasonal on average for the next 6-10 days. NOAA is betting on warmer in mid-December but I'm going to roll the dice on a brief cold snap.

I dont think december will be warmer than nornal, especially with the cold air starting to build in Alaska, keeping my fingers crossed that NOAA is wrong here
And Iceresistance the 12z GFS showed that high

But the GFS has consistency on the potential December Cold Wave, this storm is only proving it, it needs to be watched very closely . . .Stratton20 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 5:38 pm Thats far too out on the model to be worried about right now IMO
I feel like when you look at something that far out, it’s always better to go by the ensembles. I do agree that it’s something to watch though.Iceresistance wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 5:53 pmBut the GFS has consistency on the potential December Cold Wave, this storm is only proving it, it needs to be watched very closely . . .Stratton20 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 5:38 pm Thats far too out on the model to be worried about right now IMO

Iceresistance Yes I do agree it is something to be watched, but it is 12-13 days out, so expect changes
Light freeze Dec 8/9 near the Houston area, but that's no surprise.Iceresistance wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 5:35 pm 18z GFS is getting me strongly concerned for Early December

by days 11-13 the 12z GFS is showing the potential for a huge arctic outbreak in early december, still far out but their definitely is a growing signal for this

Also 2 Major Central & Southern Plains Snowstorms, the entire State of Texas will go under a deep freeze if the 12z GFS verified.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 11:38 am by days 11-13 the 12z GFS is showing the potential for a huge arctic outbreak in early december, still far out but their definitely is a growing signal for this

That would definitely mean some seriously cold air for december, model support is starting to grow on to this arctic blast, will see as we get closer to that timeframe
Thinking ahead. If that does verify, how cold? Wondering if we will have rolling blackouts.Iceresistance wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 11:51 amAlso 2 Major Central & Southern Plains Snowstorms, the entire State of Texas will go under a deep freeze if the 12z GFS verified.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 25, 2021 11:38 am by days 11-13 the 12z GFS is showing the potential for a huge arctic outbreak in early december, still far out but their definitely is a growing signal for this
