Folks we are all sad. We want this to be our "family time" tonight. Dan was admired well beyond the local area in weather world, or shop as he called it. Many visitors will likely be joining and posting in the time ahead. We encourage you to share your memories of Dan. I know I have a few.

The magic powers. I'll always remember those posts. From that person who will remain nameless or too many names to name.

His sense of humor came out when the weather got boring and we were all restless wanting to talk weather. Always put a smile and made me giggle.

Most of my memories of Dan are from when he was on the air regularly. When Dr. Frank came on board I wondered where he went only to find out he was doing the graphics support for him. I was quite excited when he joined us as "Stormcloud" at STORM2K. He was active with us until he started this forum. What a wonderful legacy he has left us all. I have always thought he was one of the best OCMs by far!! Dan you will be missed and will always be loved.

Thanks you mf_dolphin. I learned from VB that Dan posted as Stormcloud at S2k. We are all family.

It's hard for me to believe he has passed. I remember him very well as a wonderful moderator of this weather board. I also remember a few of his forecasts. He and Dr. Frank were two of my favorite meteorologists down here in Houston. This has been a rough day, and now I'm just in shock. My condolences to his family as well as the KHOU Weather Team. I know it sounds strange, but it's almost like you've lost someone you knew as a close and personal friend.
Ready for severe weather season!!

Thoughts and prayers to his family.

I had the chance to sit in on two of Dan's on air broadcasts on KHOU several years ago. I contacted him about it and both times he was so generous in letting me come up and sit in on the prep, on air, and post broadcast portions of his job.
I will never forget that. He always told me if I ever needed a reference for a weather related job he would help out.

People like Dan are few and far between.

I am shocked. I had no idea. I haven't been on the boards since last summer. Dan was always so helpful and kind. He answered lots of questions, and helped out when my son worked on a weather related science project. May God comfort his family and friends in this difficult time. RIP.

I knew in my heart this was coming. Yet I tried to convince myself of a miracle. It hurts to know Dan is gone, but yet there is some peace to be had just knowing his suffering is over. He no longer has to endure the trials and tribulations that are of this earth. Absent from the mind, present with the lord. We will all see Dan Meador again one day.

With a broken heart, and tears in my eyes, I say goodbye to a dear friend and weather buddy.
Peace to his closest friends and family. Steve....
