Makes sense, and probably explains Jeff’s forecast for accumulating snow in Harris County given his forecasted temps.

What’s even better about this forecast if we do indeed get snow is that it will be happening in daylight rather than the middle of the night. We could all do without the freezing rain though.

Yep... models suck with these types of fronts.

That’s wild to think about given how cold they are showing but shaving 3-5 off is probably a decent bet

When do local stations start buying in on the temps? Ours still has us up to 43 on Tuesday.

They are always slow to the party. It’s sad.

Austin now under a Winter Storm Warning. I see reports of multi vehicle accidents working in the area.

Call me stupid but..why is Jeff mentioning snow and the NWS is only mentioning freezing rain and ice? What am I missing?

Spring's NWS forecast is....interesting.....

I can't attach a pic of the forecast, but it's *showers* on Sunday and snow\sleet then just rain the rest of the day. ????

Quite the potent wave of activity rolling on through. Just caught a glimpse of the radar loop and man that cluster of storms that went through the loop had a decent amount of lightning. Just had a solid clap here as well in the western burbs. Was not expecting that!

Lots of purple filling in on the NWS map and pink to boot!

NAM is a good set up for us. Connects with northern stream and digs south

Hopefully it's not a trend on the GFS. With that set up, we are more likely to have freezing rain than anything else. Plenty of time for some changes though.

Accuweather TV has a ‘Winter Weather Potential” map for Monday, focused on Texas that they have been showing.

The map they are showing today is the same map they were showing last night - they have not changed it. We are in a band of pink and the pink stops just short of the coast.
