Winds have picked up dramatically here in Beaumont. Been raining since 6am nonstop. TS force in a few hours. Folks here are starting to post the gusts and wind on social media. Its quite the sight to see.

If nothing else was learned, this isn't like predicting storms in the early 2000s where there is substantially large adjustments to tracks. The NHC has been on point in the last handful of years.

Still wind driven rains in Beaumont. 4” so far and counting...Now sustained about 40 with current gusts to about 60. Brings back that nervousness from Ike when the winds howl... 3pm till 8pm will be our high winds. 50 sustained with gusts to 70.
Tree already fell in my neighborhood and just looked at Entergy outage map and its lighting up like a Christmas tree. Stay safe everyone.

Very breezy and gusty here. I’ve had some gusts in the 40mph range. The power flickered earlier enough to re-boot everything. The edge of that rain just wants to keep flirting with me. I can literally see the edge of the rain shield looking off to the east.

I dont see that happening from looking at the radar but it will be close enough. Looks like it just took a sharp turn more easterly to me.

More likely the western eyewall. The eye will track east of L.C.

Thanks guys! I’m no expert! I’m just over it. I live close to the coast. I’m tired of chewing Motrin!
