While many things could cause this, one potential cause is a slight cool wake from Marco. We can't know for sure, but it's a possible speed-bump for Laura atm. pic.twitter.com/oFZtt0U1yJ

can you elaborate? What would this mean?
Marco caused an upwelling in the water in the GOM. That cool wake is causing hiccups in the intensification of Laura. This might be temporary.
I'll be damned. That's the first good news in awhile. Any mitigation is good.

You will never slow down sir. I know you too well.

Some structural notes...

Rate of intensification maybe more gradual today… Which many models indicated anyway… But the structure of the storm could favor strengthening up until landfall if shear, truly, isn’t as much of a factor as it approaches the coast.

I had a 3500 watt but after Harvey a purchased a 5500 watt and had my electrician install a transfer switch no cords running thru the windows or doors.

12z HWRF is looking like the border. Little faster and weaker than previous runs.

Ive been thinking since yesterday that Chambers county may be the landfall location. It seems like models have honed in on an area from Galveston to the Sabine. If Laura hits from Chambers county or points west of their metro Houston could receive hurricane force winds. As that would bring the core into the metro area, especially those along and east of I-45.

Last March, I took the plunge and bought a 22kwh Generac standby home generator. Auto transfer. It was expensive, but I’m thankful I did that.

By the way, Lowe’s in Baytown had generators and window ac units.

Probably depends on what the 12z EURO and early 18z tropical models show.

I’m on the Chambers/Harris county line. Do you know what town in Chambers might be ground zero?

[#NerdTweet] This structure has been well-forecast by HWRF. What should happen is the strengthening vortex should eventually tilt more upright sometime between now and tomorrow morning, leading to a more symmetric inner core and quicker strengthening. https://t.co/X6YpflXHaG pic.twitter.com/DuFeicxBwT
