If the GFS says Texas, it'll go to Louisiana...seems to work that way

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Texas.

* WHEN...From noon today to 7 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

I think we’ll get hit by a storm this year. Going out on a limb somewhat with that, but I truly believe it. I’ll eat my crow if not.

Roasting outside right now. And I'm seeing numbskulls riding their bikes in the heat. Thats bad enough, but seen several where they have a leashed dog running with them. Gonna keep my wife occupied treating heat stroke dogs for sure.

Is the euro and gfs still showing that tropical wave in the Caribbean down the road? Or is that vanished too?

Death Ridge in place, with a reinforcing dry front tomorrow, dropping the dewpoint for 4-5 days.

The Long Countdown to SEC COVID season begins!

The last couple of years the ridge held off until late July and August.

I have 100 degrees, a dewpoint of 80, and a heat index of 122!

Also my June rain tally is only .30”

Space City Weather had a write up today and highlighted that most of Texas is not in drought conditions.....

Not for long...
