Just as you said that, look at it now. It weakened significantly. I’m watching the area out near La Grange now. That’s a nasty looking cell.

It's very windy here in the Heights with winds gusting at least to 50 mph,I've also seen some power flashes in the distance on the leading edge of the squall line.

yeah, bad timing - there are a lot of other sources, but waking up in the midst of it & searching for it was frustrating

a while back they said "new radar" would happen some time in April, now it says April/May - hopefully soon ?

Thanks for the response. I woke up and looked at it and was trying to beat the weather to work and noticed that the warning boxes were way out front of the radar. Checked the time stamp and sure enough radar image was old.

Man, we’re getting hammered here all over the central part of Wharton County. I can officially say I wasn’t expecting this.

It’s been raining hard here for over an hour now almost nonstop. I haven’t been able to check the gauge cuz of how hard it’s raining and all the lightning, but everything is like a lake out here. I’d imagine at least 3” if not more.

Well I was finally able to check the gauge. We got 4.8” here and still raining light to moderately. I’m sure we’ll finish with over 5”. Biggest rain of the year here.

Some wind and some rain at my house at least. But boy, once it got south of me it turned mean. Lake Jackson got thumped.

4.10” IMBY here in Beaumont. Im a happy camper. Usually its too much all at once after a dry spell here, but +4” was just right. Few low lying underpasses on MLK flooded but are still passable. Lots of power outages around the triangle, but luckily not my house. Other than that, nothing severe or damaging that I can tell from news or social media thankfully. I did have a bad gut feeling about this one and thankfully that didnt come to fruition. Rain just finished. Beautiful cool days ahead.

Checked out gauge. Not quite a half inch. I'll take it, but man I was hoping for more than that
