Lots of people out walking today and enjoying the pleasant temperatures. Borderline muggy though.

Come on next week! Please come true! Breaking record highs on Jan 15 is no fun.

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX
1158 AM CST Wed Jan 15 2020

.Aviation...
Fog and ceilings are gradually lifting inland and anticipate
things to trend upward toward VFR territory in the next 2-3 hours.
Look for things to deteriorate again this evening and overnight
with IFR (possibly LIFR) ceilings again developing. A decaying
frontal boundary will sag into the area Thurs morning bringing a
chance of -ra/dz as we head into the mid and late morning hours.
Not expecting much improvement in flying conditions before 18z.

Closer to the coast things continue to be a mess with the sea
fog. Webcams showing improvement in the bays and right along the
beaches. This should only persist for another 3-5 hours, then
it`ll start rolling back inland before evening and persist into
the late morning hours Thurs. LIFR conditions should prevail as
this occurs. 47

&&

.DISCUSSION...
Will be dropping some of the dense fog advisories in the bays and
inland as things improve. Already sent the fcst update...mainly
bumped temps up a couple degrees. 47

This has to be one of the grossest feeling January mornings I’ve ever felt. Last night felt like mid June as I sweated away in my garage.
The A/C in our van went out Monday, and it fogged inside incredibly. Pea soup inside and outside! Fortunately, I got lucky and a new $7 relay fixed the problem without replacing the clutch/compressor.

We have 70°F dewpoint much of the year. We need a break. Most of all, we need a prolonged shot of cold air. A nice freeze - otherwise, the insects are going to be murder this Spring!

If we dont have a decent shot at some cold air..screw the frozen stuff..can we move on to spring then? This is pathetic to be almost 80 degrees in the middle of January

Agreed. It is still winter. Winter is suppose to be cold.
