Y'all can thank me for the cold weather. Brought it back with me from Maine instead of souvenirs.

Meh, there is no "permanent climate change". SE Texas weather always has and always will suck.
Over 28 years here, I've found the dry spells are drier and the wet events wetter...more frequent large rain events interspersed by nothing. Fall have been warmer for highs. Summers a degree or so cooler for highs. Night temps are 1-2°F warmer - some of that is UHI.

Most of the warming is in the high plains, particularly nights, winters. Our temperature on average in Texas has only nudged up 0.5°F to 1°F...and that's mostly at night.

But, yeah, from May to sometime in October can suck.

Models continue to bring the front in much quicker. NAM brings it through Wednesday morning while the GFS has it pushing through Wednesday night.
Also interesting to add the 00z NAM have our neighbors to the W and SW getting their first freeze Friday morning.

Halloween looking chilly, high only reaching the lower 50s. Looking dry by trick or treat time!

We're inching closer to the record low of 30°F for Halloween night.

NWS lowered my rain chances this afternoon from 50% down to 40% - not sure why as it looks like rain is headed my way.
