I will also severely miss Brooks. Brooks communicated the science easily and beautifully.

We're very blessed in Houston to have as many well qualified and communicative mets on-air as we do.

I hope he lands somewhere soon, wherever that may be.

Brooks found a job!

"In just a few weeks, I will join the Fox 31 [KDVR] and and 'Colorado's Own 2' Pinpoint weather team [KWGN] as the morning meteorologist for FOX 31," Garner posted on Facebook, today.

His dogs have the fur to appreciate Denver.

Gratz, Brooks! Don't be a stranger.

They are lucky to have Brooks, really miss his forecasts on KHOU. Air is so dry there, he may even miss our relentless humidity - invest in moisturizer :D

Hi, friends! The move to Colorado went well, with no major issues. I've been settling into the new station and getting oriented with and acclimated to the high plains/mountain weather patterns. Glad to be here on the forum! Thank you again for all of your kind words!

Some of the guys on my team work in the Denver area.

Yeah, the weather in that part of the world is quite different from the swamps of Houston! I remember when back in school, we did a field camp in New Mexico. The weather forecast always included two daytime temperatures; the one in the mountains, and the other in the valleys.

"High today will be around 85 in the mountains, and 100 in the valleys." =8-0

We were mostly in the valleys!

In records going back to 1872, Denver had never gotten any hotter than 97°F during the month of September. This week, they've topped that mark three times, including today.

Denver reached 98° at 2:05pm this afternoon breaking the daily record high of 97°. Coming into the month of September this year, the monthly record temp was 97°. Remarkably, we've had three separate days reach above the old monthly record. (98 on 9/1 & 100 on 9/2) #COwx
