The GFS is hinting at a front coming down around the 22nd, followed by a better one on the 27th. I hope it pans out because this heat is getting unbearable, but I’m not getting my hopes up.

The overnight Euro does show a weak front around September 21/22, but nothing earth shattering. I continue to be cautious with the various computer schemes as the Hemispheric pattern looks to be transitioning to a volatile setup. A very vigorous Convectively Coupled Kelvin Wave is moving our way across the Pacific and there are some indications the MJO may actually wake up and move into a favorable phase in our side of the Globe for increased tropical development potential. That said we are midway through the month of September and a transition to Fall is a certainty as the days getting increasingly shorter.
