Re: 2023 Hurricane Season Discussion
I domt think 95L warrents much attention anymore give its very underwhelming structure , this should cross over into the EPAC as an open wave and that will be all she wrote about this one, probably gonna have to wait until august to really get things going This is how I’m beginning to feel as well ...

Yeah, I wouldn’t write it off yet. Especially if it can make it to the far SW Atl near the Bahamas or the NW Caribbean.Stratton20 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 19, 2023 3:19 pm I might have spoke too soon, the 12z EPS is very aggressive with the tropical wave

Re: 2023 Hurricane Season Discussion
It seems like the 12z EPS comes in with less support and the 0z has been bringing it back. You often see this, though. So it’s not really surprising.
The 18z GEFS looks kinda interesting. Not a strong signal by any means but definitely stronger than it has been.

Re: 2023 Hurricane Season Discussion
Cpv17 good point, if I remember correctly, didnt hurricane IKE do something like that? formed in the central atlantic and shot through the florida straits on its way to texas Kinda. It actually went just south of there over Cuba but really close to the Straits. Hurricane Ike had one of the most won...

Re: 2023 Hurricane Season Discussion
Probably will recurve, the caribbean is a graveyard this year, but it would nice to track a storm again, the only way i see anything getting into the gulf from the far eastern atlantic, is if it stays a weak wave while moving into the caribbean ( IF it does at all) or if we get something developing...

Re: 2023 Hurricane Season Discussion
Probably will recurve, the caribbean is a graveyard this year, but it would ne nice to track a storm again I don’t think that one will be a recurve. I don’t think it’ll be strong enough for that. I also expect this season to be more front loaded than normal. By mid September, El Niño will begin to ...

Re: 2023 Hurricane Season Discussion
Looks like the GEFS guidance is hinting at some tropical mischief near the yucatan peninsula in the days 5-7 period, is that what you were seeing? Nope. I’m referring to the wave that’s supposed to come off Africa in about a week from now. That’s the one I’ll be watching. Check out the 0z EPS and y...

Re: July 2023
Ensembles and operational models are in agreement that around the 23rd or so we should finally begin to see some changes that may allow for more daily scattered storms and a little less heat, fingers massively crossed this pattern change verifies🤞🤞🤞 Yep. That has been my target date for the past co...

Re: July 2023
I find it interesting how Beaumont is included in the moderate drought area and I’m only in the abnormally dry area on the latest drought monitor map. They’ve had way more rain than I have had over the past few weeks. I guess soils there dry up faster than they do here and they need rain on a regula...

User:null this ridge pattern definitely looks to be going nowhere even in the long range, i dont know what its going to to substantially break this heat wave more than just a day or two but its going to have to be a huge player to get this persistent and pesky ridge to break down for good An eastwa...

Well the western half of southeast Texas is now under a high risk of excessive temps, per the CPC for the first time all summer. Guess it’s only going to get even hotter.. yay!!
