Re: February 2016 Will Winter Arrive?

When I was a kid, late January into Feb. used to always seem like the coldest and wettest of the winter. It hasn't been such in recent years, but that's how I remember it in the 60's and 70's.

Re: JUNE 2015 -Heavy Rainfall/INVEST 91L & Watching The Gulf

Oh and just a sidebar to this. I love the Texas coastline and watching the watch and warning lines is a great way to teach your kids ( and yourself) local geography. Lots to learn watching these systems. I love that. Sorry for veering off topic a bit.

Re: JUNE 2015 -Heavy Rainfall/INVEST 91L & Watching The Gulf

If it was a stronger more organized storm it would be easier to predict...Bill is going to meander onto land and dump lots of rain over a wide area for an extended period of time. Folks that leave as usual in the morning may not be able to get back later in the day. Although I know you're right and...

Re: JUNE 2015 -Heavy Rainfall/INVEST 91L & Watching The Gulf

Forecasters expect this disturbance to remain relatively weak. It should be a far cry from a powerful, destructive hurricane. I stress that, though unlikely to be come an organized system, it's still a possibility (I would treat as such). Weather forecasting is, after all, not for exact science fan...

Re: JUNE 2015 -Heavy Rainfall/INVEST 91L & Watching The Gulf

I know it's hard to say with weak systems, but since this one will be somewhere relatively quickly, what's your best hunch everyone? To answer your question, Cisa: 1. Factors favoring this disturbance developing further include already lower than normal surface pressures, ample low level moisture a...

Re: Congratulations Andrew/Our Newest Pro Met

Congratulations Andrew! That's really awesome. When we only see words on a screen and not faces, we forget how the years pass. That is great news that you are living your dream. Best wishes to you. I know that your family is as proud of you as "your family" here is. Great job. That is grea...

Crazy here in Porter too. Our lights were out from 11 pm to 6pm. That was one of the craziest storm I''ve seen probably since the storms that came through in the Spring before Alicia. The lightening was spectacular.

Re: June 2014: WET & WILD OR HIGH & DRY?

Driving home from work on 1314 was an adventure. Hail was crazy. Stopped at light at 242 and I was kind of afraid OT would break my windshield. I haven't seen hail like that in a long time.

The skies positively opened up on me twice todayin Humble/Kingwood/Porter, then went to my son's house in Atascocita and it didn't rain a drop. Go figure.

Re: May: Increasing Rain Chances/Heavy Rain Possible

It got so dark around 2:30 2:45ish Tuesday afternoon. It looked like nightfall. Really freaky looking. It's good to get some rain though. Especially with the breaks in between to let it soak in. Every little bit helps with summer coming.
