The -NAO is working its magic.
So is the SOI…the lowest I’ve seen all year.

Re: December 2022

In addition to utilizing your local NWS pinpoint forecasts and weather apps, I would strongly recommend also utilizing the National Blend of Models 1D Viewer when determining your local temperature, wind, and precipitation forecasts. Just click on the menu option in the upper right corner to select ...

Any Aggies recently settle into the area, recently? Because that is one helluva AggieDome. I can't believe those cells moving just west of I-45 missed you. 1.72 in of rain today in CLL. Salvation at last. Now I can begin preparations for brown patch season. ;) I’m glad you finally hit the jackpot! ...

Re: August 2022

Honestly, from ABC13 to Space City Weather, all these forecasters just suck. All you see is lipservice and flimsy ad hoc justifications, there's no real substance at all. NWS discussion tends to be the most informative. But even there, some of the same faults can occur, as seen in @Cromagnum's abov...

Re: August 2022

I hear you Stratton, but I was going to share my opinion back at the beginning of July when you first began to post some mid-term & long-term models that were initially showing a good moisture feed into Texas, and then eventually started forming a circulation of various strengths moving into the...

So Stratton, tells us why we don't want this ICON run, or any other forecast model with this solution, to be correct with this prognostication?

After yet another day with rain showers and thundershowers dissipating as they moved toward my neighborhood, I decided to do a little auditing and compare this year with 2011 with respect to rainfall totals. And as I expected, my general area is running ahead of 2011's totals, but disturbingly, not...

Most of the computers models haven't done a very good job with forecasting the current activity moving through SE Texas at this time. For example, the 06Z NAM-3km does not reflect the current level of convection over the area... nam3km_ref_frzn_scus_6.png Now compare that forecast to the current rad...
