Re: June 2020: Tracking TD Christabol
This heat SUCKS!!! Ugh I love this city but this heat is getting old :x Suppose to hit 99 actual next week with heat indices above 105. Yep.. if Cristobal goes where the models/forecast have it, it may be hotter than that with drier air in place. I just can’t deal with another 2011 here. That was b...

Re: June 2020: Tracking TD Christabol
Not sure I'd call it a big shift west. Early on it's caught in a cyclonic loop of the gyre then the high is pushing a little further s and e which helps it turn nw a little sooner. Next frame will tell how big a shift w it is.... 0z Euro had it into SELA, 12z has it in SWLA. Definitely a decent shi...

Re: June 2020: Watching The Bay of Campeche/TD 3
Wxman57 on storm2k says this is going to the upper TX coast with flooding for east TX and LA. I told them it’s too early to know for sure yet where it’s going and I got attacked saying they trust what he’s saying because he’s a pro met. I just don’t see how you could say where a system is going a w...

Re: June 2020: Watching The Bay of Campeche/TD 3
Very low confidence forecast beyond Wednesday seems to be the thinking reading the full package discussion. Landfall and dissipation is possible as well as moving NNE after meandering in the far SW Gulf. The idea of a new vort rotating around the broad monsoonal gyre is also certainly not off the t...

Re: MAY 2020
Wayyyyyy to far out to even have a long shot guess and any landfall location. This could just as well die out in Mexico. Nothing is certain but if/when this emerges into the BoC, we definitely need to be paying attention.

Re: MAY 2020
Looks like HGX is heavy on the ARW model which brings a rockin bow echo through early morning and NAM also shows it, albeit weaker. We will see!

Re: MAY 2020
How's it looking for later afternoon / early evening? We are driving back home from the hill country and curious if we are going to be fighting with it by the time we get in Houston around 6-7 Looks like a good chance at another line coming through over night after looking at all the mesoscale mode...

Re: MAY 2020
Jeff’s Update at 9am this morning Another large complex of thunderstorms will likely move across the area tonight. Air mass has been greatly worked over after yesterday afternoon and the early morning round of storms. Upper level low pressure system is currently forming over NW TX and the morning co...

Re: MAY 2020
I was thinking the same thing. Seems like storms may be turning towards the south (or reforming in that direction anyways). I noticed the NAM was showing this this morning. It basically showed some convection going in every different direction lol

Re: MAY 2020
Atmosphere south of 10 must be capped. Storms exploding north of there. Lol just my luck. It literally dropped fat rain drops for 3 seconds and that’s all I’ve had today. Once again everywhere N and E of me getting good rains. Lol yeah and I was watching the forecast last night and they had most of...

Re: MAY 2020
Guys I really feel like we should temper our expectations for this week. I know rain chances are high for the whole week, but I’m just not really seeing a situation where anyone receives any significant rainfall. Models aren’t suggesting any training going on. All I’m seeing is just a chance of wid...

Re: MAY 2020
Wow some of those hail pics from Burkbunett are insane! I don’t think I’ve ever seen hail that big and to go through roofs is just scary. Hope we get some nice good rains over the next few days. Please no floods like we’ve been getting accustomed too!

Re: MAY 2020
While you SE Texas folks are sweltering, it was 47F this morning in Western NC and it struggled to reach a high of 54F with rainfall and some of it very heavy. I still haven't turned on the A/C this year. Rub it in! I’m sure you don’t miss this heat one bit. I sure wouldn’t! Our AC is running like ...
