Looking more and more like the weather is going to spoil the viewing in Texas.
The big story next week will be the economic losses associated with the weather. Texas was expected to bring in a total of $1.4 billion in revenue related to eclipse-related activities. I don’t see how that’s possible now.

Re: April 2024
Unfortunately, I booked a room north of San Antonio. I experienced an eclipse in Greenville, NC back in the day. I had a 3 inch refractor telescope and my Dad and I set up a straight optical line (we removed the eyepiece) leading into a box to view the image. We set up on a staging area on campus u...

Re: April 2024
I hope the weather works out next Monday but it’s not looking great. Honestly, unless you’ve invested something into the event (hotel, camping, etc) we don’t have anything to complain about. It’s a bonus event for us. Think about folks from places like Germany who invested thousands to fly here. Th...

Re: March 2024
Yes, next week’s drought monitor should look much better. This rain was very timely and should last us a good while (especially if it rains again Monday) but it doesn’t take long to dry out again.

Re: March 2024
Models have most of the rain tomorrow in the coastal counties. Not much inland compared to what the coast gets. Yep. Also for two nights in a row, the “futurecast” on Fox26 for tomorrow shows the heaviest activity south and east of US-59. A small band clips the northern half in the overnight tomorr...

Re: March 2024
I only got a few sprinkles here to dampen the pavement for a few minutes, and that was it. I know some people got some rain today, but it certainly wasn't the 'main event' up here.
That excessive rainfall outlook was just another tease.
