Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Watch Issued

Srain,
THe thing that worries me the most is people getting stuck at work. Do you think the mayor will ask people and business to stay home and closed tomorrow or is that to risking for her to do incase it is not as bad as we are saying??

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Watch Issued

I too am a long time member, but been away for some time now. Funny how we all get back together when interesting weather rolls around! Anyway, I have been lurking this Board for some time, and all this reminds me of the "Wishcasters" we see when tropical weather makes a threat. Now, we ha...

Re: Hurricane Isaac: TS Watch Extended To E Of High Island

Well, after a look-see on GRL...I see very slight movement...more of a wobble than anything else. Who knows what he is going to do? This is a nasty little boy for sure!

Re: Hurricane Isaac: TS Watch Extended To E Of High Island

Poor New Orleans....those folks are getting the wrath of Isaac. Water going over the levee, and homes getting flooded. This storm needs to move the Hell out of there. Prayers going their way.

So still very much west than what it was yesterday...Where can I see the euro landfall and after?
Try this link:

Euro looks like MS coast as target. These models are really struggling with Isaac! :?:

Re: Hurricane Isaac: TS Watch Extended To E Of High Island

Maybe I am crazy, but after taking a good long look at GRL Radar, I am see the COC moving much more west then north. Almost as if to be heading about 290 degrees. Does anyone else see this...or am I really going cuckoo? LOL

Re: Tropical Storm Isaac: TS Watch Extended To E Of High Isl

Not sure what happened, but I tried to post a semi retraction to my previous post. I only wanted to head off that possibility. It has happened in the past. Not intending to offend anyone in any way, shape, or form. If anyone feels this way,I sincerely apologize.

Re: Tropical Storm Isaac: TS Watch Extended To E Of High Isl

Can I make a request to all users here? If I may, I would like to ask that we keep away from "Wishcasting," as this only gets people going. I realize many love the excitement, but from someone who has been through these storms, and seen the aftermath, I, for one don't want to see it again....

Re: Tropical Storm Isaac: TS Watch Extended To E Of High Isl

I just got on, and turned my GRL on. After watching this, it does indeed look as though Isaac has nearly stalled...with a little hiccup to the west. Now, I'm not going to say it is moving west, as this is probably just an adjustment. But, apparently, the NHC, or someone sees something to include the...

Re: Tropical Storm Isaac: Moving Over The Eastern Gulf Of Me

Interesting... The 11:00am advisory showed Isaac was 26.1 North. The new advisory still shows the same thing. West movement? Looks like it got pulled under the convection. ;) Not too sure about this NW movement of 14mph. I am inclined to agree here. Taking the straightedge, the movement seems barel...

Re: Tropical Storm Isaac: Moving Over The Eastern Gulf Of Me

Remember the famous technical term used in past storms, "WEEBLE WOBBLE" ? Well, Isaac is doing just that. After going nearly blind staring at images, I saw Isaac making that NW turn, but now, I see the WNW move taking place once more. This storm could wind up in Brownsville for all we know...

Re: Tropical Storm Isaac: Moving Over The SE Gulf Of Mexico

Strengthening and still moving wnw And, if this direction continues, I see landfall a bit further west. Duh!! Anyway, I am hoping for landfall more west mainly because it hits the swamp areas more. I don't want to see NOLA slammed again, and I don't want to go days without power! Just my two cents.

Re: Tropical Storm Isaac: Passing South Of Key West

My gut feeling thus far is a repeat performance of Rita. But, as I'm watching the Gulf IR Loop, I see it tightening up, and NOT moving NW, like I'm seeing on cable news channels. I would sure hate to see him slam west of NOLA, as they don't need it. Still hanging tight, waiting to see what happens n...
