Re: March: Winter Weather Advisories/Warning Issued

As don noted, already 35 at IAH. 34 here in the Kwoods

Dews in the mid 20s. It won't take much at all to drop us below freezing. Radar returns already noted to the SW

Wouldn't be suprised to see the warning extended into Harris for at least the NW side

Re: March: Wind Chill Advisory & Wintry Mischief Possible

Did HGX finally change their wind chill advisory criteria? It was values below zero which was way lower than any coastal office, and it seemed like it was based off of the old wind chill formula. I mention this because College Station saw wind chill values into the single digits this season with nar...

Re: January: Hard Freeze Northern Areas & Light Wintry Mix

Another one of those "if it had been a few degrees colder" events

Still got to see some snow fly. Along with the icicles and layers of sleet, it's all good in my hard cover book.

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Warning/Adviso

The 0z GFS is quicker and further east with the upper low. It also has a bit more precip, but not as much as the NAM

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Warning/Adviso

Question remains...will most of that moisture be during freezing temps? The 2m temp forecast from the NAM suggests "yes". It curiously warms them a bit while the precip falls in the early afternoon, but I doubt it. I'm more concerned about temps from the onset, and it does have us below f...

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Warning/Adviso

Remember folks, this is one model. As Sraintx and Wxman 57 preach, patience. We shall see. Stay tuned. :) True The 0z NAM has the upper low a good bit of distance further east in 24 hours than the 18z run... This really makes all the difference. If the GFS shows the further east solution and thus m...

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Warning/Adviso

EWX reports light snow and sleet across the Edwards Plateau. A lot of precip around areas where it is not even forecasted (Sonora). Hi res models may be handling the amount of precip a bit better here. Not a surprise... Thinking positively! :) Looks like the only concern is getting these temps to d...

Re: January: Strong Arctic Front/Winter Storm Watch Issued

I suspect hgx will probably change these watches to an advisory. There is nothing showing a "warning" criteria event now...
